Arizona Cardinals Information

History

In 2008, the Cardinals started out with one of the best offenses in the league which was led by former the quarterback Kurt Warner as well as Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin which are wide receivers. In the middle of the season, the Cardinals led their division for the first time since 1998 with a record of 7-3.

In 2007 They didn't win any games in the preseason. They only won five games last year. Yet, every season the Buzzsaw remains the critics darling in the NFC- perhaps it's Matt Leinart and all the new girls he is dating? Nevertheless, the sleeper team label is lost every disappointing winter. However, in '07 celeb player Matt Leinart and co. will try to turn that around, with a new coaching staff and upgrades all over. The Cardinals may just sneak by and not let down fans come January.

2005-2006 Arizona Cardinals tickets ushered in a little bit of good and a little bit of bad for Cardinals fans. Despite an improved offense, this marks the Cardinals’ seventh straight losing season. As fans in Phoenix prepare for the opening of the new Cardinals Stadium for next season, the team hopes that the off-season can help give fans a reason to actually cheer. One of the few bright spots for the Cardinals was kicker Neil Rackers. His 40 field goals set a new NFL record, but this statistic also reveals the team’s inability to reach the end zone. Head coach Dennis Green will remain with the team, but two assistant coaches were fired after the season’s final game.

While the Cardinals began their franchise history in Chicago, the team spent the majority of the last half-century in St. Louis. However in nearly three decades in Missouri, the team made a miserable three playoff appearances. When the city refused to erect a new stadium for the team, the management hoped that the Southwest could provide a better atmosphere for the franchise. After six consecutive losing seasons as the Phoenix Cardinals, the team was in desperate search of success and changed their name to the Arizona Cardinals. However, even with a new name, the team looked identical to previous Cardinals teams. In the last 12 years, the Cardinals have only posted one winning season, after which they reverted to their typical caliber of play.

With five coaching changes in the last 15 years, pinpointing the reason for the Cardinals atrocious record is difficult. What remains even harder to comprehend is why the city agreed to build the team a new stadium - Cardinals football tickets do not hold quite the status of many other tickets around the league. In fact, attendance for Cardinals’ games is among the lowest percentages of any team in the National Football League. Perhaps the new attractive new stadium can recruit fans for the team and help the historically struggling franchise climb out of the trenches of the NFC West Division.

While Coach Green’s second season in Arizona ended with another losing record, he will attempt to capitalize on the team’s star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The young offensive standout set a new team record with over 100 receptions in the season, and there are rumors of the Cardinals’ hopes to trade for another quarterback to replace Josh McCown who struggled this season. While the building process has already taken many years, the fans in Arizona hope that 2005-06 marks the end of failure, and a new stadium brings in better times for Arizona Cardinals ticket holders.
